It's not just us, everyone is talking about Firefly...

"Let me tell you, this is the most beautiful and secluded property I have ever vacationed at. The owners make sure to provide a pristine and secured environment. Upon entering the property, I saw more Deer than I could count, along with some Turkeys. Words can't describe how wonderful the property is. A wonderful mountain waterfall view, along with private access to the Toccoa river. The cabin and living space was extremely clean, and Nina and Bart were amazing hosts, taking time to show us around the property and give us the history! I can't wait to come back! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone!"
Sheriff Ledbetter, Florida

Press Release - May 2015
On May 15, 2015, Candice Pederson, Marketing Communications Specialist for notified Firefly of upcoming recognition: "Congratulations!! Firefly Fishing Lodge and Retreat is featured in our article Remote B&Bs and Inns on This article will be featured in our weekly traveler newsletter that is sent to over 1 million B&B travelers soon."
The article’s author states: "Water bookends the 95-acre Firefly. To the west is the Toccoa River, to the east is Hothouse Creek. Welcome to fly-fishing heaven. The Hothouse is stocked with trout, which means fishermen could be catching—and releasing—rainbows for hours.
The lodge is also something to marvel: tongue-and-groove construction, huge beams, an octagonal living room with a cathedral ceiling, and a rare, 19th-century square grand piano. The 55-foot covered deck is the perfect perch for spotting deer and eagles, and retreating to one of the lodge’s three rooms—the Rainbow Suite has a claw foot tub—helps a visitor feel like Atlanta is a world (instead of only two hours) away."

Press Release - January 2015
Firefly Fishing Lodge & Retreat was featured in the January, 2015, issue of “The Angling Report, A Newsletter Serving The Angler Who Travels.” The newsletter specializes in destination information for prime fishing getaways across the world.
In an article (see link below)written by Jim Casada, author of more than 3500 articles and columns on fishing and hunting, as well as over 30 books written or edited, Casada comments:"Sparkling waters, the type setting typifying the world of trout and most other species sought by fly fishermen, and the opportunities for escape from the hurly-burly of everyday life which fly fishing provides, add greatly to the allure of the long rod and whistling line. So too does solitude, and I found all these soul soothing qualities during a recent visit to Firefly Fishing Lodge…"

"The blessing of being at Firefly continues to shower us with joy and gratitude. Every day we rehearse all the serendipitous experiences we enjoyed while there. You have a way of making people remember the significance of who they are with your unconditional love and genuine kindness. That would have been enough. The unique back-to-nature building we stayed in and its furnishings worked a special magic on our bodies and souls. We felt absolutely lifted to a place of renewed energy and restored spirit. We are just so glad you are who you are and that you have created a little piece of heaven for people like us. Please accept our heartfelt appreciation."
Don & Jane Smith

"After 27 years of staying in the anonymity of chain hotels, here is the first letter we've ever written to people where we've stayed because it was just that good!!! It was nice to have some great conversation with people that care about our country as much as we do. We were delighted with the great accommodations and the friendly wildlife. Thanks for your hospitality, we really enjoyed ourselves!"
Dottie & Al

"Our stay at Firefly Lodge exceeded all expectation. My son and I wanted to take a fly fishing vacation and we couldn't have picked a better place! The accommodations were outstanding, set in the woods right next to the creek and within easy access to the Toccoa River. The fishing was great! The creek offered exclusive fishing on private waters with plenty of big fish. The Toccoa River also offered great fishing and a nice contrast to the small stream fishing on the creek. All in all we had a great time, caught plenty of fish, and got to spend some good quality time in a fantastic setting. We definitely plan to come back soon!"
Ed & Derrick, Father & Son

"A home away from home in the Blue Ridge mountains where your worries melt away and your feel like you just met your best friend for life. Here your can hike, fish, sight see or just read your favorite book. Trout Fishing in the private waters of Hothouse Creek or fishing on the nearby world class Toccoa River makes this a great choice for catching wild rainbow or brown trout (plenty of stockers too). If your wife or girlfriend does not fish send her to Blue Ridge for a shopping experience with your credit card!"
Mack Martin
Georgia Council Chairman - Trout Unlimited Atlanta Fly Fishing School - Owner/Master Instructor

"Thank you for a wonderful weekend! Aundrea and I had an amazing time and we have already shared our experiences with our friends and family. Neither one of us can stop talking about what a great atmosphere you have there at Firefly. The accommodations were comfortable and warm, the lodge is amazing, the wildlife was... OMG! But more than that, the service and hospitality was beyond our expectations. Thank you so very much for sharing your world with us!!"
Shannon Black, Business Owner/Alabama

"If your looking for a special place to spend a few days stop your search! My son and I stayed with Bart and Nina for 3 nights and absolutely loved it, I never felt more comfortable anywhere. It started with the directions they provided to the Firefly lodge, the warm welcome, great accommodations including all the amenities. We included two days of float fishing with Jim Leslie, our guide, we caught both Brown and Rainbows and with Nina's special lunches it gave us the energy to pull in the fish. The memories of this spectacular vacation are etched in both our minds forever."
George & Michael, Father & Son

"A peaceful place to relax and unwind. More to watch than a day's worth of tv. Here you can gaze at the mountains, marvel at the wildflowers, listen to the buzz of the hummingbirds, and of course watch the banter of the deer and turkey. We hope to be back to see the many changes that take place in the 4 seasons."
Scott and Lisa M.
