Firefly Fishing Lodge and Cabin Rentals

Resting atop 100 mountain acres, a unique, old fashioned, chinked-log lodge with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Hand-crafted by a NASA engineer in the style of the 1800’s, with tools from the era, the rustic design includes massive hand-hewn beams throughout, bark-faced cabinets, cathedral ceilings, 2 huge stone fireplaces, hand-carved doors and hinges. The covered front porch overlooks the gathering fields for a variety of wildlife – deer, turkeys, birds, hummingbirds, and of course fireflies.

Firefly’s remote 100-acre nature preserve surrounds the Lodge building. On the north, nearly two miles of pristine frontage on historic Hot House Creek. Guests enjoy creek-side and mountain view hiking trails and creek-front picnic areas, a campfire area overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains, and multiple opportunities for interaction with wild turkeys, deer, and other critters.

In keeping with the Lodge’s historic design, each room features antiques and hand-fashioned furniture, some from the 1800’s era. An 1875 square grand piano (very rare) graces the great room, with old farm tools displayed throughout, as well as vintage fishing bobbers and primitive fishing reels. Each room opens onto the 90’ back deck.

The rustic kitchen, with offset dining area and cozy breakfast nook is fully equipped for all cooking needs. A 19th century drop-leaf table from England serves the coffee/tea bar. For rainy days, you can utilize the hidden 120” home theater system with satellite service. A luxury futon sits at the massive Rumford fireplace.
